Jill Wine-Banks is a distinguished attorney, former Watergate prosecutor, General Counsel for the Army during the Carter Administration, MSNBC Legal Analyst, podcast host, and a specific kind of jewelry collector. Jill uses the pin as a messaging device to convey ideas, make statements, and construct narratives. This is an exhibition and archiving project featuring pins mined from her personal collection accumulated over a lifetime of work in the political and legal landscape in the US.

It will also feature emerging and established artists and jewelers, UWM Jewelry & Metalsmithing students who have created artwork that acts as messaging devices and inspired by items from the Special Collections. Curated by Erica A. Meier with Max Yela. Hosted by the Peck School of the Arts Jewelry & Metalsmithing Area in the Department of Art & Design and the UWM Library Special Collections.

Opening Reception

The exhibition will open with remarks from the curator, featured artists and Jill Wine-Banks on Thursday, October 24 from 7-9 p.m.
